Infinitrap: ReHamstered is the much-anticipated remake of Infinitrap: Ohio Jack and the Cup of Eternity. ReHamstered offers a faster, more action-packed gameplay experience, improved graphics, a compelling narrative, and a lovely sense of humour to cap it all off. It’s an enjoyable game to play, but I am a little biased… I did write the music for it, and wrote many of the awful puns.
In game you play as the second best adventurer in the world: Ohio Jack! Your quest is to acquire the Cup of Eternity, a cursed relic hidden underground for many, many years. Obtaining the fabled Cup of Eternity will grant Jack the ability to become immortal. The quest would be easy if you didn’t have to dice with death constantly as traps, demons, and adorable hedgehogs attempt to murder you.
From the moment you set foot into the underworld, Jack falls screaming into a death trap which he can only escape by obtaining the cup – learning along the way that immortality isn’t everything it’s cracked up to be!
We hope players will enjoy the humorous and weird experience of playing (especially my terrible puns!) and the excessive and gruesome gore. Some parents might be a little concerned about the blood but I saw worse things in video games when I was younger, yet I turned out ok – all the bodies buried in my garden concur!
The game’s engaging gameplay was programmed by Yanick Bourbeau, and features stunning graphics by Stefan Sava, along with my 80s-inspired soundtrack all contribute to a nostalgic feeling when playing (Not that I’m that good at it!)
Infinitrap ReHamstered takes place in the Underworld, home to a variety of annoying and well programmed enemies. Unsettling zombies prowl the corridor, trying to eat anything they can get their teeth into (Mostly you!) In the lava, strange fish-men wait to attack while adorable hedgehogs scamper about waiting for you to inadvertently stumble into them. Lonely stone statues want to hug you, not realizing that you are not built for such a rocky romance. Additionally, there are some awesome heroes and antagonists down there, but revealing more would be a huge, huge spoiler.
Without the traps, Infinitrap wouldn’t be half as fun as it is! You get hit by annoying darts that whizz by at precisely scheduled intervals. You duck, dodge, and weave as fireballs fly past you as you struggle to stay alive. Rolling boulders tumble quickly enough to crush you if you aren’t careful. In places, the environment is being sliced through by enormous blades and the floors fall in, exposing dangerous spike pits! Even though it can be challenging at times, the game is a lot of fun!
One of the aspects we are most proud of is one of our ideas which lets you use your own mistakes to your advantage. In the game, your mangled corpse is left behind when you are killed. Your dead bodies can be used as safety platforms to jump off of if you chance to die on a spike trap, in lava or under other circumstances. The more times you pass away, the more bodies you leave behind, and the easier you can make some maps! (Though Yanick can beat everything without dying, so it’s all possible!)
I hope you enjoy Infinitrap: ReHamstered, we put a lot of work into it. I’d rate it as a solid 6.5 out of 10.
