New information has surfaced from the, amongst others, Twitter user Consoles System that if you leave your PS5 standing Vertically, it might break. This is due to the Liquid Metal literally flowing off of the chipset so the console overheats. This is reportedly due to a design flaw related to the cooling system for the PlayStation 5’s Accelerated Processing Unit.
We are not sure yet which versions of the PS5 that are affected, but for now we advice you to leave your PS5 in the landscape/laying position to be sure.
