Apple is planning to launch a brand new dedicated app for video games on its own devices.
The new app will be pre-installed on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV later this year, Bloomberg reports, citing sources familiar with the plans.
The move comes at a strategic time, reportedly just days after Nintendo’s new Switch 2 console is set to launch.
The new app will serve as a unified platform for games on Apple devices. Users will be able to launch games directly from the app, and it will bring together game achievements, leaderboards, communication and other gaming activity in one place.
