Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era has been delayed.
It was initially announced for an Early Access release in Q2 2025 (April-June), but it has now been pushed back to later in 2025, with some sources specifying “near the end of 2025” or “Summer 2025” (which would be Q3).
The primary reasons for the delay, as stated by the developers (Unfrozen) and publisher (Ubisoft), are:
- Further Polish and Refinement: The developers need more time to polish the game and refine technical and in-game details and mechanics.
- Meeting Fan Expectations: Given the strong inspiration from the beloved Heroes of Might and Magic III, there’s a high level of fan expectation, and the developers want to ensure the game lives up to it.
- Indie Studio Challenges: Unfrozen is an indie studio, which can come with its own set of development challenges and a need for more time.
- Community Feedback: The developers have been actively engaging with the community through beta tests and have been implementing changes suggested by fans. This iterative process takes time.
Essentially, the delay is to ensure a more polished and well-received Early Access launch, rather than rushing out a potentially buggy or incomplete product. Many fans in the community seem to support the delay, preferring a better game over a sooner release.
