Just Act Natural is a game a personal friend of mine just randomly recommended after browsing it up on the Steam Store one night. We were in search of a new game to play and we tend to love casual social games so we decided to give this one a try. It was free to play after all so why not.
Man, was I surprised about this one. The free version has 3 game modes you can play and they were a blast. We invited our friends in and the chaos was a fact. This is the most fun I’ve had on a casual game since Among Us and Golf with your Friends.
The graphics are cute and quite good. It’s literally hand-crafted Clay 3D Scanned into the game. And it works so well!
The game is about, well, Acting Natural, or like an NPC. One(or more) players are acting as a floating cannon in the sky whose goal is to try to figure out which of the clay blob people is a player and eliminate them. The other player’s goal is to collect coins, diamonds or race to the finish without being detected.
This is where the free version starts to fade. Because the three game modes become old news pretty fast. But the game was super fun and I was “enticed” to buy the full version(DLC) and bam, many more modes were available. And the best part about this is. Only the Host needs to buy the DLC. All other players can run the Free version. Which is a smart and rare way to do it for these types of games. Kinda like Steam Remote play together, just better since you’re not dependent on the Hosts internet speed.
The new game modes also brought in some twists and entirely new ways to play like Assassins where every player is a hider and the goal is to kill each other for points or collect as many coins as possible without being detected. Duck & Bread was also hilarious. One starts out as a Duck/Goose and hunts down Bread(other players). The creativity baffles me. And the artwork is just so satisfying. All we need now are constant updates with new maps/game modes.
All in all, we can’t recommend this one enough. Small indie party games like this that are fun and unique are a rarity and deserve everyone’s attention.
