Among Us devs are now serious about fighting the cheaters! After this summer’s rapid growth in popularity in Among Us, Innersloth decided to expand the game. The team has already released hints about a new map and other features, but this week we got a closer look at several of the news that is waiting.
Among Us players will soon get a new map to try out. Innersloth says that the next Among Us map – number four – will be the game’s largest to date. There will be completely new tasks, and the Imposters will probability have more places to hide away the unfortunate crewmates.
When the map will arrive is not yet clear, but the developer confirms that it will be free for all players. Probably before we get this far, Innersloth will introduce a proper account system. Once released – sometime in December – the accounts will not have much to offer, but as the team says, this is an important step towards being able to report players for bad behavior and most importantly cheating. The fight against cheaters continues! As for the cheaters, Innersloth acknowledges that it has become a problem in Among Us. The small development team has implemented a number of server-based changes to clean up the situation, which has admittedly introduced various bugs to the game. – The changes seemed to help a lot, but some cheating methods sadly still work. There will be several server updates to fix all this, but pouring out anti-cheating was what created the bugs, so cleaning up will be a longer process, says the developer. A new update for Among Us is available right now. This introduces all the schemes from the beta test that were launched a few weeks ago, including anonymous voting and the ability to hide the progress meter for tasks.
