As a Windows Central writer reports, it appears that the launch will be in April 2023. The podcast XboxEra was the first ones out with the rumor. The rumor is based on information from sources with knowledge of the situation.
Windows Central’s own sources also say that the game will be released in April next year. The website also claims that Blizzard will officially confirm the release plans during this year’s The Game Awards, which will be held on December 8. Then there will also be details about an open beta test, which will reportedly start in February.
Diablo IV was officially unveiled at Blizzcon in 2019. The developer then promised a return to the series’ darker roots, after Diablo III was criticized for its more cartoonish style.
Over the past few years, Blizzard has slowly and steadily shared details about what players can expect from the next installment in the series. Alongside official information, there have also been major leaks, with several videos showcasing the game.
